Behind the art: While on assignment in China, I relied on taxis to get around. One day, I found myself in a cab with a driver who was loudly talking to himself and driving like a race car driver. To stay calm, I daydreamed about New York. The characters on the meter translated to the word "Drive," a fitting reminder of my constant need for resilience in the face of such intense experiences.
